The faculty members of Ramgarhia Institute of Engineering and Technology (RIET), Phagwara, participated in a crucial meeting organized by Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) at CII, Sector 31 A, Chandigarh.
The meeting was held under the Punjab Government’s anti-drug campaign, led by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria.
The event began with a floral welcome by Dr. Anshu Kataria, President of PUCA, & Er. Bharti, Training & Placement Officer of RIET who warmly greeted the Governor. The program proceeded with the National Anthem, following which detailed discussions were held on how educational institutions can contribute to eradicating drugs from society.
The meeting focused on spreading awareness about the drug menace in the state and discussed strategies for collective action against it. Governor Kataria, while addressing the gathering, emphasized that fighting drugs is not the responsibility of the government alone, but requires the active participation of every citizen. “Everyone must understand their role and contribute to this war against drugs. Collective efforts are the need of the hour,” he stated.
Representing RIET at the meeting were Er. Bharti (TPO), Er. Parminder Singh, Er. Pardeep Singh, and Ms. Preeti, who actively took part in the discussions and pledged their full support to the cause.
Dr. Naveen Dhillon, Principal of RIET, congratulated the faculty members for their participation and appreciated their commitment towards making society drug-free. He also expressed confidence that such collaborative efforts would make a significant difference in curbing this social evil.
